Rear Suspension Rebuild Thread
Well look at it this way, you are now one of the premier experts on rebuilding the rear suspension on a 280Z. Great work and good on you for taking the time to fix everything and get it right. You should be very proud!

Single DCOE50mm
If you would like my advice, I would do a few things. First, I would come straight out with 6 intake runners that are exactly the same length, say 4 inches. Make all of those runners go from a one size at the head say X mm, an open up conically a bit to say X+0.25in. THen I would attach all of them to a large plenum (like an EFI manifold). Then most importantly, I would have the plenum heated to keep the fuel from every being able to pool. This is the greatest challenge for sure. You have to make sure all 6 cylinders get an even distribution fuel, and not have lean 1 and 6 and rich 3 and 4. The plenum may have to have some directional channels inside to help out with getting the fuel to all the cylinders at the same velocity with the same amount of entrained fuel.

Triple Weber 40's/L24 Throttle return Spring
Go to the help isle of your auto parts store, they sell a package with about 8 assorted springs in it of various sizes. They are about 5 bucks per pack and one is bound to fit your needs, I am always playing with my return spring feel, and I go through them often.

Thinking of a Strut Swap
You are correct sir... confirmed with receipts

Thinking of a Strut Swap
Front strut Rear strut I double checked the receipts from the previous owner, and he bought the struts in 2003, not 1993 like I thought. They are in fact Tokiko HP struts with polyurethane strut tops and bump stops. It also had the upper bearings purchased as the same time. Now the real question is since these are only about 8-9 years old, should I assume that they need replacement. Most new struts do not last 10 years in peak condition. I have no reason to think I need new strut top insulators though. Polyurethane should be fine for that short period of time. Hmm, big decision here. The iluminas would definitely add a bit of adjustability. I wonder though how much better they would be than properly functioning HP struts. I have to think about it now....It is a heck of a lot of money to drop to replace perfectly functioning parts.

Thinking of a Strut Swap
Okay, I may have used the wrong words here it seems I know I have Tokiko HP struts. Well I have paperwork says I have the Tokiko non adjustable struts cartridges in my car. Doesn't that mean at some point somebody had to cut the OEM strut tubes?

Thinking of a Strut Swap
Well now I feel that I need to post pictures of my setup to get a confirmation... I will check back later tonight.

Thinking of a Strut Swap
Before I order, since my struts have already been sectioned for the tokiko HP's, are the illumina's a direct drop in to replace them. The reason I ask, is if they have already been cut, I would be slightly concerned if the cut is different between the HP and the Illumina's. If they are different, I would just order a fresh set of HP's.

The Lime Green Machine Restoration Thread - 1972 240Z
YOU SIR are doing one heck of a great job! I am about to tackle the suspension on my Z very soon with some illumina's! I have already done all the steering components as you did, and they make a huge difference when they are fresh and clean and to spec like you did them. Great work! I had wondered how hard it would be to remove the old struts from the housings, and watching what you did gives me pause. I was hoping to pull them out while still on the car, but that may be an impossibility. Hummm. Keep up the great work!

n-42 Carburated Head
I am currently running an N42 head with carbs. I think they were drilled for both a carb and a FI manifold. N42 head right there.

Finally
I warn you buddy, if you used an impact wrench to take off the peened nut without cutting off the peened part, you just ruined all the threads on that axle. Ask me how I know.
