Wish they had them in a 15X8!!!!

Already sent in my request, are there any of you die hard Auto-X guys that can suggest how to word the request with the right buzzwords to heighten our chances of a class change? Thanks to those of you that have already written, please let us know your experiences of any feedback. My experience so far was a automated letter letting me know they received it.

[ Ultimately the SEB decides what changes to make based on feedback. If they did not think this reclass had merit they wouldn't have posted it for member comment. So the more letters they get supporting it will help the Z's cause. Now, if a few current competitive DSP drivers get worked up and send letters saying 'are you nuts?' this whole idea may die an early death. We won't know for a long while. The longer you hear nothing, the better the Z's chances. The SEB probably won't print a final recommendation until late summer... a retraction could come next month if the opposition is strong... Tom Please all you SCCA members out there; please write in your support for this class change, I definitely would like to break the Z back out and once again take it for a spin around the track!

Think you would have a hard time finding anyone at Nissan that actually cares about their customers.....called the customer service line lately??? Definitely think those NGK stickers would be cool for things like a center section of a clock as part of a nostalgia decoration in a garage or "Mans Room"

Just my $0.02 but I think the thumbnail pictures look pretty impressive, just gives the Z a mean and aggressive stance. Looks dropped as much as the BRE cars were dropped! Gotta appreciate the fully restored to original as well as those that make a personal statement out of the cars

John, Trying to understand your concern about tire width, since it is Street Prepared you are allowed to flare the fenders, are you looking to put the wheel tire combo you proposed under stock fenders, or are you considering offset so that you can run deeper back spacing? Is the weight penalty of your welded in rollbar offset by the rigidity it would add to the body? Any suggestions for a strong regional car setup, those shocks alone would kill my budget for a couple of years! Thanks for the comments was hoping that you would pipe up when I started the thread.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the Z gets moved to DSP; would like to get idea's from everyone as to what components, brands, and sources of supply you would use to build your Z wether hypothetical or you join the crowd and run for real's

A long overdue change in class for the original Z, definitely think this will add to a resurgence of interest in running the 240.....lets see big ol 15" Hoosier's, fender flares, coil overs.

Got what you were asking that the entire Cell Phone aficionado’s are missing YOU STILL CAN’T BEAT A CB FOR A REPORT WHERE THE COPS ARE! Any of the truck stops from my experience have a pretty good selection of CB's with some pretty knoowledgeable people close by for guidance

Have been told the degradation of the rubber boots is a result of the grease used when lubing the ball joints. Have gone back through the old Factory Service Manuals and tried getting the grease they recommend, however they still turned to tar/goo. Anybody have any grease recommendations. I had used a Castrol grease. Sorry for the twist to the thread.

Just to insure your the above answers are clear before you might make the mistake of working it out with vice grips! The sensor is threaded into the thermostat housing therefore with an appropriate socket turn it to the left to loosen it, if it binds while coming out due to corrosion work it back and forth and try using some penetrant oil as needed. If you are past this point and you have the sensor out you might need to work the sensor out as the actual sensor is in a threaded sleeve. Take care with this in order not ruin the threaded sleeve. Remeber patience and caution is required as you are dealing with soft metals and thin wall's for the housing

Think it would be a great idea, being an occasional visitor to this site hybridz and other Z and 510 sites makes it difficult at times to find some pretty common answers. I am in to buy a book if you do it, maybe I am just "Old School"!
