I have a 4.11 r180 with a 1981 280zx 5 spd in my 240z . I love the off the line power and close ratio between 2nd and 3rd. 5th gear is tall enough that my hwy revs are fine. Tomorrow I will write down some rpm's , gear and speed and report back. Jon
  2. I would pass, and keep looking. If the car was hit hard enough to have damage back into the front radiator supports other things could be out of line. Jon

Another 73, alot of good info and z owners willing to help. Welcome. Jon
  4. I will be using su's. It looks like the old electric will work for now until my z fund gets a few more $.
  5. Hi, I'm doing the f54 l28 swap in my 240z. It already has the electric fuel pump with the 2 relays that made the pump run only on start up. My mad money fund has taken a big hit and is history. Can I use the Datsun electric fuel pump wired with a new relay? I have an extra manual fuel pump cam and could drill out the p79 head and retro a manual fuel pump. But I was interested in going only electric. When i searched here and hybridz I found some hints that this would work, but no solid answers. Thank you for your time. Jon
  6. Dad could only afford older cars. So alot of the cars had flat head engines. One car he had was a 4 door with suicide doors. And you could walk into a hardware store and get dynamite if you needed to blow things up. I watch dad blow stumps up in our backyard.
  7. If you remember that Japan made cars that looked like a box driving down the road, and no kid wanted his dad to buy one of those tin cans. Jon Long live the Z!
  8. Bkelly is right on target in what I found covering my T100. I used the side protection rubber for a line to hide the top seam on the film. Forming the film around the curve of the car is really hard to do without making ridges in the covering.
  9. I did the whole bottom 1/4th of my t-100 toyota pickup, front all the way to the back. I did this 2 yrs ago. My 4x4 has been all over the mts in Washington and Idaho. It really holds up to the rocks and dirt that I throw at it. It still looks great and you can always take it off with no problems left. That being said, it takes time a some degree of skill to get it on correctly. I worried about little bubbles behind the film, and now I know that they leave given time. It should be done in a warm shop or whatever. I love the stuff, is a bit costly. When I repaint I will do the same to my Z. Jon

The headlights came with a parts Z. I think they are the ones that Black Dragon sells. Jon ps I did the headlight harness upgrade from Dave, I love it and it makes those babies shine. Also, a 280zx alt.

I drove it out of the shed where I keep it, and took the photos on my 2 block long driveway. It has a section that goes along a river that runs by my house. After the shoot, the Z went back into my shed. When the roads are dry, I drive my Z whenever I can. Jon

I've been wanting to take some pictures of my 73 240 in the snow. I knew that the light and reflections would make some interesting photos. It was a fun shoot. Jon

  19. My Bad, I was thinking it was a 73 like mine. 72's didn't have flat tops. You are lucky it is a 72. What a gift. Jon
  20. It looks like it is really good shape for its storage method. Does it still have the flat top carbs? Jon
  21. Hello, I hope your ready for an addiction to Z's. Soon you'll have all the classic signs. Lack of money is a big one! Good luck and sweet Z's. Jon (Keep it green)

I live in Walla Walla, Washington. Down in the Southeast corner. If it's near here, let me know and I'll take a look. Jon

I have spent hours looking to id a set of 5 slot mags. Tires are still on, but offset is about 2.5 inches and backspace is about 4.25. That makes the rim, i think, a 14x6. All it has stamped on the back in 08983 and an E. They are in great shape and I would like to know more about them. Jon
