  1. Wow....$12,250 and I guessed $24k.........:stupid: I took from the description that the car would be similar to one of the Z resto's.....I'm assuming it is no where close. My very nice 3 condition 1973 brought $11,000 and this car was completely restored and went for $12,250....I think BJ is NOT the place to sell a Z.
  2. Closest to the actual price wins..........well, nothing but it may be fun. I going to say it goes for $24,000............

It's the gauge....I tapped it and it moves around. The plastic cover to the gauge is also loose, I'm assuming I can't remove it from the front....is that correct? I don't think I can fix it unless I can remove the plastic cover.

On my 71 240z the oil pressure gauge just quit working....(or I hope it has). Whether the car is running or not the reading stays at the full right side, never goes down or moves. I'm guessing it's a connection somewhere but didn't know where to look....any ideas, the haynes manual is no help. Thanks for any help.

The love connection continues.........Blue, look what you've started.... Also, Blue get your Z down here this year and ride the Dragon......but don't go on weekends, toooooo many bikes. If your folks are in Sevierville you will have numerous choices of great roads to explore.

I have the "240Z" black logo mats from MSA, very good quality. Mine are barely used and would sell them for $40.00 if your interested. Here's a picture.

Thanks fella's I am happy with the sale, I could have set my reserve higher but your right I am comfortable with the price. It's funny, I had forgot when the auction ended, I was outside playing with the kids when my cell phone rang and it was the winning bidder.....I wasn't even sure what the winning bid was until the buyer mentioned the price. Happy Easter to all..........

Well, I did the Ebay thing and sold my Orange 240Z, I set the reserve at $11,000 hoping it would garner more bids once the reserve was met. It met reserve and then........no more bids, oh well. It's a weird feeling, I'm glad for the buyer and sad for me, feels like buyers remorse only the opposite. I think the buyer got a very good and fair deal, and 10 years from now when the cars worth $30k I'll be kicking myself. But now I can focus on the Green 71 and start getting it in the condition the Orange one was in. Thanks to everyone for their input prior to the sell...... Randy
  11. Thanks Blue......
  12. You couldn't have said it any better........
  13. Hey Carl and Arne, Thanks for the kind words, it's my Orange 73 that's on Ebay. I am really surprised at the low bidding, however I have had three serious buyers come by the house to see the Z. I've had two offfers to end my auction early with the highest offer being $10,500....I declined, as my reserve is a tad higher. It will be interesting watching both of these............ Regards, Randy
  14. Thanks fellas, I took the Z out today with my son and shot some video for Ebay. I have never done video before and it took me forever to get this uploaded. I'm going to try and do some more later this week. Let me know what you think. Carl, I went back and forth on putting in a BIN price, but decided in the end not to. I really don't have to sell the Z, so If it doesn't meet reserve in a way I will be happy. Just thought I would see what happens. Here's a link to my video.....maybe I can get Dennis Gage job...... http://s158.photobucket.com/albums/t119/mally002/?action=view&current=240z1_0001.flv
  15. Thanks MEZZZ I'm hoping I haven't left anything out. Sorry to hear about your experience, hope everything works out.

Duh........I'm an idiot, didn't even see that.....:stupid: Sorry Bruce...

I'll ask around here on Friday, but as Bruce said Zbarn should be able to take care of the carbs at the least. If you find someone also let me know, that is always good information to have. PS....Bruce, the area code here is 865......
  18. Xray, Thanks for the link, it started my day off with a laugh. Maybe I should say in my ad that the my luggage straps are the rare invisible ones. Bobc, You are correct, this car's previous owner (and the car for that matter) are both from Texas, and the car has always been 918 Orange, never Yellow. It has one repaint that I had done almost two years ago.
  19. Fella's, I do appreaciate the "appraisal" I will be selling the Z, but it may be a few weeks now so I can tackle some of the issues you guys brought up....believe me I would have never considered some of those, so thanks again for all the help. Although, the more I think about it the more my brain keeps saying..."keep it, it will only keep going up in value". If only I had that 6 car garage........I have 4 in a three car and it makes for a tight fit. (Plus my wife hasn't parked inside for 5 months) Take care, Randy
  20. Carl, I was hoping you would lend a hand.....THANK YOU! I will more than likely address all these items..(maybe not the door panels) and then move forward with the sale. I am the third owner and have the PO to thank for the dash cap and speakers in the door.....oh well. Thanks again for all the advice.
  21. Good eyes...Yes I went to a straight exhaust extension.
  22. I forgot to ask in my last reply... Regarding the battery tray, what type pictures or test if you will would help show that it is solid. I agree it looks bad in the photo, but it is solid. If you could see it in real time you can see that it's not rotten. Would you guys clean it off by scraping down to the metal and then prime it, or leave it as is for people to inspect. I think I can take some steel wool or my grinding pad and remove all the surface grim....
  23. Thanks for all the information guys, I sat down this morning to draft a description and I am now on page two, In trying to write about everything you don't realize how much information there is. Xray, no new project yet....still have to finish the 356. Sailor Bob, I don't think I would offer a BIN price, would let the auction run it's course( if I even go this route) and see if it meets my reserve. Again, the information everyone offered was great, if I do decide to try Ebay you can be sure it will be the most anal ad they have ever seen. Again, I appreaciate all the advice......I'll let you know what I decide, as you guys all know the best time to sell your car is when you don't have to.
  24. Hey Folks, Well...........I may be selling my 73 240Z. Time and Space are telling me I need to sell a car so I was thinking about the 1973 918 Orange. Of course I would have to give Ebay a whirl just for the sheer number of people that look there. If I do go that route please take it easy on me as I'm sure it will be noticed by the board. I would love some opinions on some of the photos I took, Do you see anything that would worry a potential buyer. The car is really GREAT, but I just enjoy the Green 71 so much better that I hardly drive the Orange one anymore. (I know poor Randy) Anyway, I'm not 100% but just from the pictures would you rate it in the number 3 condition code? The engine bay needs a good cleaning, but otherwise the car is a solid 9 out of 10. No rust that I can find, it was all taken care of several years ago. Thanks guys, RM http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=2AcsmzNq0bsnHw&notag=1
  25. What about this #2 and #3 condition.......Anyone?
