[urlhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1876028512&category=6392]http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1876028512&category=6392 Not that I'm in the market to do this but I thought it would be a neat way to get a newer car that is actually different from the cookie cutter cars around here today. What do you guys think, if you've done it let me know. I do need to get the wife a new car in the Spring. hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder what she'd say if I said "Honey, I bought you a new car in Japan" Dwight She'd probably kill me
  2. I wonder what kind of drugs he was on in order to do that........... I could only imagine how long that took. D

  4. "It was really about the fact we had to be visionary and not retro, not looking back," said Diane Allen, head of California-based Nissan Design America and in charge of the 350Z's styling. "We wanted to celebrate our future, not our past. The more we looked at it, we needed more of a modern, visionary statement." I've copied the above statement from an article in the news column of the site: http://www.canada.com/national/story.asp?id={03387C89-BCCA-4800-AA2B-9E66F3D8EAE1} "not our past" "modern, visionary"........ someone please tell me this woman does not have her job anymore. At a time when everyone is going retro, you go retro. As much as I hate VW, they proved we want retro and everyone else is following suit..... except Nissan. I'll keep my sexist views to myself on this subject but I sure as hell hope someone fires this lady. If anyone has her email address, feel free to let her know what I think. On another aspect, it is a great article that explains a lot...... it also explainst that this Diane woman needs to go back to Betty Crocker. Dwight On My Soap Box!
  5. Now that I've looked at the picture on a decent monitor, I can tell that the tires aren't actually on the car..... when I posted it, it looked to me that the tires were on the car and set to stick out that wide. My Goof on that one...... is the car local?

Fox News had a truck with the same set up this morning...... I'm sure it'll get replayed a lot today since it is bound to be a slow news day. Dwight Merry Christmas...... now tell the in-laws to go home
  7. What'd ya get? and are ya bragging or complaining?? just kidding. The one that gave it to you must have wanted you to have it!

I wanna see some video footage of that thing! :stupid:
  9. Ok, I'm a fundamentalist..... a purist if you wiil. If the gov't had never jumped in and started adding rules and things we'd still have the 240Z in the new car lots. I also thank the good Lord that we live in a country that allows us the freedom to do what we want. With that said, even though I personally view the ZX as the red headed step child, the owner of this 280ZX should be shot for what he has done: p.s. I found this at www.beaterz.com
  10. Look a little lopsided......... can I fix them?

  14. Man that car looks nice! Keep her original, I'd even go so far as making sure you had the original wheels in the garage in case you go to sell her or take her to a show. I'm up for adoption if you need somebody to "will" the car toROFL Dwight '72 pumpkin that nees some TLC
  15. Let them drive those cars whenever, whereever they want, I don't see them lasting more than 2-3 years on the production line. Nor do I see them ever becoming worth anything...... so let them drive them in the snow and salt so they can rust away and I wont have to look at them again. Dwight venting so early in the morning..... it isn't a good thing.
  16. I'll make it a seventh! :classic: I can't remember a year where I personnally have had so much to be thankful for, tis has been a good one for myself even with all the little bumps in the road. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving ya'll!!!b Dwight '72 needs some TLC but she's mine
  17. Has anyone bought the full dash cover that MSA sells? I'm assembling my Christmas wish list..... also known as "like hell if I'm buying you that stuff list"LOL I just want to know how the full cover fits if anyone has used it. Dwight
  18. They could be refering to the smog pump that runs on the belt line, lower right hand (passenger) side. It's pretty worthless but what can ya do. Dwight
  19. I saw the commercial and thought.... thats so and so's plate! I can't remembers who's it was though..... how about someone starting a thread with whoever's plates were used? I think it would be kinda cool. Dwight I watch TV via TIVO so I don't see too many commercials
  20. Speaking from a purist' point of view....... that looks pretty cool...... it would be nice to see some better pics, esp from the backend. Dwight Keeping my truck so I don't get tempted to do that
  21. and as far as a Z....... I don't like it. I can see the evolution to the car....240-260-280-300-350. I don't think it is deserving of the Z name. With that said, it is a decent looking sports car but it doesn't look like it will hold up, it looks cheaply made. Just my opinion.
  22. Are they the same??? I know, I know, buy the CD from Mike and that will tell me. I'll buy the CD as soon as the wife isn't looking (next payday). Meanwhile a localguy has a spare tank for sale and I thought I might try and sneak it into the garage depending on how much he wants. Dwight Gettin crafty to sneak parts into the garageROFL

A game right up my alley.....I'll have to download it and play it...... of course now that I joined the ranks of 240Z ownership, I don't see myself playing too many games :classic: other than.... sync the carbs, thats a fun game:stupid: Dwight "refreshing" my brain on the Z before I "refresh" the car
  24. My new 72 is badly oxidized and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on which compound would work best in trying to shine it up. It'll be a while before I can get it painted, but It like to clean her up for the time being. Dwight Zless no more!
  25. I brought my new 72 240Z home today:love: The engine is running pretty strong, clutch is tight and the brakes are good. I'm going to have to drop the gas tank and have her cleaned out, po said that he has been changing the filter more often than should be done. U joints need some work, as well as a little body work (not as bad as one would think) a fresh paint (oxidized orange just isn't what I want) and some refreshing done to the interior. Overall I'm happy about the condition! My wife even took her for a spin and she now understands my obsession, I might have to hide the keys:cheeky: I'll post some pics to the gallery by next weekend. Dwight '72 240z as a sometimes daily driver that will slowly get "refreshed"
