{ppcode} When I did my alternator upgrade, all i did was cut the wires on the plug that goes into the back of the alternator. Put a diode inline on the wire that gets hot when you turn the key on, and jump the bottom wire to the battery stud. I left the regulator harness and everything plugged in still and it works great. Charges like a champ. I can pull pleanty of amperage at idle. I like my car to idle low so i searched through our shop and found an aluminum pulley that was smaller, and I milled it down even smaller on the milling machine so the alternator would put out a little better at lower RPM.
