My first guitar was my mom's 60's Silvertone Sears and Roebuck semi-hollow body. It looked very similar to this, but it did not play very well. I checked, and it was not a valueble Silvertone. However, I learned guitar on it and at the time it was great. It had tone tone, but it was in tune for about 5 minutes of playing.

I have put a lot of miles on this guitar. The binding is yellowed and the finish is checking, the finish on the neck is worn through to bare wood in spots and the case and guitar smell like a dirty bar. When I bought it it was in mint condition, all the wear is from me and I love it.If I was only allowed one guitar this would be it. I can play jazz gigs and blues and country and rock and roll and..... all with this guitar. I love the big hollow body but it is very limited in use.
