280z E88 Head and Smog Question

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a 280z I'm putting together. It has a L28 with a rebuilt 260z E88 head, I'm in need of aquiring parts like the intake manifold etc to get it running again. My question is will I be able to pass smog with this head and all the proper smog equipment? I'm based in California.

E88 is carb head, are you going with carbs or efi?

Was going with efi for smog reasons.

Nevermind, just answered my own question after digging into it. I'll have to source another head that can accept fuel injection.

The n42 was first then n47 for the 280zs. The p79 was on zxs. They're efi heads.

If you could find an mn47 off the 84 maxima they'd be efi friendly plus small combustion chambers for better compression. Good luck, hope you find something.
