A little confused on batter hook up.

Featured Replies

I'm confused on how to hook my batter up. Maybe someone could give me some pointers. I have a photo attached.

Which wire goes to which terminal. And what do I do with the extra wire coming from the battery that is not hooked up to the solenoid. Is that bellhousing bolt on the left a good place to put it?

Hook the negitive cable to the top bolt the holds the starter to the bellhousing. hook the positive cable up to the positive terminal on the starter solinoid.

Thanks Jeff!

I got it all hooked up and it cranks over just fine. I can't wait to start it. I have to torque the drife shaft flange bolts and then put in some transmission fluid.

Once again, I appreciate your help very much.

BTW,

On putting some transmission fluid, how is that done? Where do I fill the transmission from? I have a 260z transmission type F4W71B. Oh yea, its in the car installed.

thanks, Isaac

I do not know the #'s of ALL the transmitions ever made for a datsun. Therefor all I need to know is if yours is manual or automatic. If you have a manual then you will fill the trans via squeeze bottle. The fill hole is the full level, fill to the hole. If your trans is auto fill it through the fill level dipstick tube.

The transmission is a manual 4 speed. Where is the fill level hole located?? Is it on the side? There is a few different plugs there.

It's on the passenger side about 1/2 way op the side. It will be a pipe plug with a square socket hole - your ratchet will fit in it to loosen it.

Thanks agian!

I found it, I found it. Tomorrow I will borrow some torque wrenches from school and finish torqueing everything down and try to tune my carbs to match my new cam.

Or maybe I'll just take it to get tuned somewhere that has a dyno.

Any who thanks a bunch
