73 240Z coming out of coma

I have had this 240 for about 12 years waiting to be restored. Before I got it, it had been sitting for about 20 years. I believe the car has only 22K miles on it through various indications around the car. I have had several 240's through the years and it seems this one is a true low mileage car.

I am doing a complete restoration back to original specs. the car "had" automatic transmission, factory air, Hitachi flat tops.

I am converting to manual gearbox with 83 ZX 5 speed, R200 diff, rebuilt 2.4 engine, and been looking at the Vintage Air A/C an not reinstalling the factory A/C.

I just starting the process, I hope to be done within the year, but you know how things like this go. Going back to original white with the red interior. Original dash is mint.

Sorry the files are so large, dont have the skills to make them smaller on the screen.

It's a 56, next restoration after 240. It's all original, 100% complete, just needs some love.

Me too!  I have a baby blue 56' that is next on the list. My dad bought it new in Germany in 56. I learned to drive in it...

Wow, that pretty cool. I have had about 4-5 Oval window bugs, I have a few odds and ends around if you need help. Make sure you visit "The Samba" website for any parts you may need, there's a lot of helpful people there.

It seems old Z's and VW's go hand and hand, not sure why.

On rotisserie, so now the rest of the disassembly.

Will have pictures soon. Sort of new at documenting work. I work alone and seem to get involved without breaks or thinking of stopping for documenting.

Some you make this look easy.

Car is completely disassembled, assessing the rails. Obviously the rears and the floors need replacing, I'm hoping to save the seat attachment points, we'll see.

Front rails need some love, not sure yet if replacement is needed. Front cross member is rusty but only on the rear portion, it appears clean on the inside other than a couple of areas.

Ill be removing the battery tray to address the firewall where it attaches to the rear part of the fender wells on both sides of the car. Pretty gnarly.

All the brake and fuel lines are off at this point now.
