The check valve does have a bracket to hold it to the firewall doesn't it? I thought I had seen pics of both, with and without. Should it be held down firm? Can you leave the valve unattached? Would anyone have a bracket I could purchase? Thank you very much.

Yes, black is the factory correct color.  

I also have brackets not plated.

I figured it was because you are so precise, just surprised it was black...
