Gasket for the Air Cleaner

Featured Replies

I'm cleaning-up my air cleaner housing on my 76 and there is a gasket (seal) under the lid aorund the outter edge. It was all dried and cracked so I scraped it off.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a new one of these or will I have to make my own.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Gary

There is a little figure 8 extrusion in the HVAC area of Home Depot and maybe other places. We have trimmed one of the "O" in two with razor blade and glued it into the groove. Go eyeball what they have.... You can trim the other "O" put it on ebay and get rich.........

I have some 3/4" wide X 5/16" thick closed-cell, self-adhesive weatherstrip that I used to replace fender seals and a few other bits. I sliced off a strip about 5/16" wide and used it as a replacement gasket. It fit right in to the channel and looks just like like the original factory seal with nice square edges.
