A little off subject, but what is the trick to getting the lock cylinder out of the ignition? I tried for days before finally giving up..

The proper way to remove these small retaining pins is to drill a small hole right next to it.

Take a sharp edged tool like a punch , and gently pry the pin up .

No destruction if you take care , and the pin is reusable .

I know, reads easy enough, but doing this takes care - don't drill the hole too deep- maybe 4-5 mm .

PS It's best to have the whole assembly in a vise , don't attempt this while it's still in the column.
