AC Switch identification?

Featured Replies

This switch came out of a 72 240z... can anyone tell me if it was factory, a dealer installed option or aftermarket? And what, if any, value it has...

Thanks,

Mark

That's an aftermarket ARA brand a/c control. I believe they were dealer installed. My '73 has one just like it. It has little value to me, since the new Vintage Air, etc., systems are much better than those old ones.

Not factory, it was dealer installed/aftermarket. Factory air didn't come into play until the 260Z. The parts are of very little value since the systems were pretty inefficient.

It would probably be of some value to an early Z owner who was trying to make a car "period correct". I had the ARA system dealer installed on my '71 shortly after buying it and it worked well. I now have the newer A/C system with a rotary compressor which doesn't "rob" as much power from the engine.

That would be true except they still sell new ones that look pretty much like that one at most AC shops.

Thanks all... that's pretty much what I suspected... I guess I'll post it on ebay and let the market decide...
