how to remove a radiator fan

Featured Replies

Hey there,

How do you remove the radiator fan and fan clutch? I am working on my cars engine and also have a spare engine that I plan to keep for parts. It would take up much less space when disassembled. I haven't seen any obvious bolts that look like they hold it on. Thanks.

There are nuts on studs that run through the pulley. Back those off and you can pull it all apart.

Ah..... those I did see but thought "Surely those aren't holding it on". Thanks Hogie. I appreciate it.

I've got to replace my water pump so I will be doing the same darn thing as well. Though hopefully the studs will come out as well. I dont think my new pump has them.

You should be able to get generic replacement studs at most any parts house for just a few cents each. I'd recommend using new ones.
