Big Shock !

Featured Replies

Last Sunday i was at my moms signing the papers over on my dads '77 Z, she sold it to me for $1.00. I had no idea what the mileage was to write on the title, the odometer has 18500 and she had no idea how many times it has rolled over. I had heard some story's from my dad but could not remember what the numbers were. I found some old invoices for repairs he had done back in '07 and he had wrote down 410700 miles

Holy macaroni! Thats a lot of miles. It looks like its in great shape too. If it is truly that high, your dad has taken good care of the car.

That's in the vicinity of the mileage that my old 64 L320 Pickup had. Near as we could determine from what records I could find and discussions with a couple of previous owners, we determined that the truck had over 500,000 and it actually could have been 600,000mi.!

Does Alabama require an accurate mileage statement on 30+ year old cars?

When I registered my Z here in Indiana they just entered "exempt" at the license branch.

Here they just mark 'mileage exceeds odomoter limits' or something to that effect.

Oregon doesn't keep track past 10 or 12 years old. Which means that ALL of my vehicles are now mileage exempt. Ironically, the Z is the lowest miles car I own, by 30k+. Not counting the motorcycle, of course.

When i went to register the car they told me the same thing as Walter Moore stated. Just thought it was a lot of miles. This is a great add for Amsoil, my dad used it in the car since he purchased it back in 1978 with 24k miles on the odometer.
