Hi gang, I took the vin off my Z and I am trying to determine what it is telling me. Can anyone help?

From what I know, this is what it means

H -refers to L24 engine

L - left hand drive

S30 - refers to the car model

16295 is the serial number (roughly where the car is in terms of the production number)

the 240z went up to 172732

This info came from a Black Dragon catalog that has a bit of information at the front.

It pretty much tells you that you have a 240Z...

Based on the serial # likely a late '70 maybe an early '71. Almost certainly a Series I...

Your car is an older sister to my car which was born Dec, 1970 and is a Series I.

Look at my avatar and note the # . This Car was built in early February 1971 ,so you can back track a bit and come up with build date .

If I had to guess - I'd say it was for an early 78 280Z most likely produced at or near the end of 1977...
