It's a pity they showed it with these wheels on, every other car in the article had standard rims on in the photos. I'm guessing that these aren't standard rims for the Z?

They are a type of "Ansen Sprint" wheels.They were by far the most popular wheel to put on just about any Z,620 or 510 back in the day.

I have a I have a set on my 810 and i'm looking for a set for my 620.

Thanks Alan for nailing an important issue here. The impression I have is that the author intended to nominate the 240Z made commonly available in Australia without realising that there were earlier and more exotic members in the Datsun family.

The article is a little inconsistent in that a very specific model of RX-7 is nominated but the 240Z nomination is nowhere near as well defined.

I think you also make a very valid point with regard to the alternate suggestions you made being more suitable nominations for such a list.

What about the RX7? I know we are all piston heads here, but the RX7 is definitely a super car.
