I have located an early series one transmission but it does not have the shifter (straight bar type) does anyone have or know where I can get one. I don't want to get the transmission and then hve no way to shift it.

I see them every now and again on evilBay. I don't think I have a spare lever to go with my spare early transmission, but will check.

Do they still make the rubber bushings or am I still on the hunt?

Rubber bushings are still available, or were in the summer of '07 when I last bought a pair. Part #32853-22000, were less than $2 each.
