Front end 'spook' options..

Recommended Posts

I don't mind the clear turn signals under the bumper, but can't get into the side markers on the fenders that way. They just bum me out, dude...

But I agree it needs to be worked on a tad. I think it needs probably 2 more to close up the gaps.

A beautiful Z such as yours is well worth taking the extra time and effort to "sweat the details". It is a good idea to slightly elongate the mounting holes to allow the spook to "find itself", when being fastened, remembering to tighten in a sequence from the center of the valance, working outward as mentioned earlier. When I finally mount mine, I will be able to review this thread and see a couple of very nice examples. Mine is one from MSA though.

Man your car is "far out", the spoiler looks "spunky", the indicators are "wild" ands you must be some "cool cat" driving down the road in those "wheels".;)

I did slot many of the holes on mine to assist in mounting stress free.

Tell you what, I have a full set of side indicators, I will swap them out and we can compare. I do think they get lost on the silver

One more after tweeking,,

Put a fork in it, I am calling it done. Just have to snug up all the bolts one more time to be sure they are all a touch over hand tight and then I will put in the last two bolts in the bumper!

Very nice! Mission Accomplished! I will be happy if mine fits that well. Does this mean we will be seeing a new avatar pic or signature pic soon?

You are never done.. pull the fork back out....:finger:

Now you just have to get rid of that black undercoating over-spray on the lower radiator support. Or black out the radiator support area altogether...

When you are really "done" - then it's time to get another one to work onROFL

Looks Great..

Yeah, I will have to work on that. And I may have to increase my % done to 91% vs 90% in my signature...

:)

Carl you are, of course, correct.

Bumper is bolted back up, all parts are snugged up, and this baby is ready to roll. Better shots tomorrow when I take her for a drive. Man I miss driving her.

I just want to take the time to thank everybody in this thread who helped me out and gave me really good advice. For those who want to try to fit a spook on their cars, I do hope this thread serves as a tool and can save somebody at least one headache. I started from nothing, had to source the body parts, bolts and spoiler. So this should cover everybody!

Here's a pic of my MSA spook w/ brake ducts. Fit is very good on my 72' 240.

I love your car. It is a great way to see what mine may look like with different options... Like those orange turn signals, and those beautiful wheels.

Ditto! I like the ducted or ductless look equally. I don't think anyone has ever registered a complaint on the quality or fitment of MSAs spook either. Very nice product, at a good price. The proof is in the pics. Zedy; love the new avatar!

THanks, took a bunch of pics this morning, learning how to shoot the angled spook. I think I like the low and lean shots with a 18mm lens to show the angles better.

It looks great, what vendor did you end up getting your spook from?

It might be the light, but it looks as the spook is a shade lighter than the rest of the car.

I think its mostly lighting...its pretty darn close. In the garage pics, you can tell its pretty spot on. Well as close as anybody can make it.

Its an MSA spook.

Zeodyne,

That's a ditto for me as well. Your car looks amazing! Looking at your wheels makes me think I should have gone with 16" panasports instead of the 15's.

I went with the ducted spook so I can install small driving lights in the duct slots.

Your Z is looking good. Wasn't sure if I was going to like the spook on your Z, but it came out looking great. Interesting that you went from a non ducted spoiler to a non ducted spook. Now get rid of those clear side markers!! haha

Not sure if I can! My wife loves the clear ones..

Heck its fathers day coming up, I think I will give it a go...Hope you guys can take a few more pics!
