The photo on top is a Hitachi flat-top, and the other photos (the ones they rebuild, in other words) are round tops.

Or, pull off the airbox cover. Roundtops have round throats, flattops have rectangular throats.

What year is your Z? The flat tops were only on 73 240's and 74 260's.

He has a 73, according to his profile.

i have a 73, but the previous owner swapped in an L28, so im in the dark as to what parts i have... i'd assume roundtops as it would be the sensible thing to do, but you never know.

Round tops are curved/rounded and flat tops are, well, ... flat.
