Newbie.. w/ question

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm new to this forum. I just bought a 72 240Z from the original owner. It is all original also, all the way down to the radio and steel wheels. He could not find the hub caps. On to the question...

Is there a OEM replacement rear hatch strut or a decent after market? Thanks for the assist.

Yes, there are both original and aftermarket.

You can find a lot of information like this using the search function. Since you are new, here is one quick link:

The same part is available, I am sure, from other sources if you have the Nissan part number which you can get from the parts CD sold on this site.

On the other hand, I bought an aftermarket support strut at Advance Auto for around 1/10 the price of a "factory" part. It just depends on what you want. If you want or need to keep the car "original" then the more expensive part is what you want.

It will not keep the hatch open any better however...

^^^^ what he said!^^^^

by the way WELCOME to the sight? Have any pictures of your baby?
