Does anyone know what color the oil pan was originally painted on an 1970 240Z? Mine is the same blue as the engine block but I have heard that it should be painted black. I would like to get it right before I put it back on.

They were semi-gloss Black.. but many had Blue overspray on them.

I was cleaning up underneath my 72 today and took a few pictures as I went. Just as Carl said, semi-gloss black with lots of engine block blue overspray.

Mine (on the 280Z) was supposedly new and looked so (even inside) and was the same blue colour as the engine block.
