Umm, the copper tube is what makes it work. I think you need a new one.

Man! And I bet that its going to be a hard to find part. What does this part do??? I have had this car for a week and im already wanting to get read of it if this takes any longer!

It either lets hot water into the heater core or bypasses it depending on where it's set. Without the tube intact you'll either have heat all of the time or not at all or somewhere inbetween depending where it was when the tube broke but you wont have control of that without the tube.

Is there a more simple newer way of doing this??? Im affraid that i will just break a new one again. It would be nice if there is a universal heater core valve out there that does not have the copper tube.

oops---didn't look at the pic closely enough---your in a 76 Z

Check with Oliver at Zmanofwashington---

he rebuilds these for your model/year Zcar and should have one in stock.

would it hurt just putting a universal valve on there instead of spending tons of money on some original part that might just break again???
