Unmolested, body seems straight, and interior looks decent. I would offer him 5K CASH, if you have it...... Although 7.2K isn't that bad. This is a diamond in the rough. I understand that it is a factor that rises the Z's price.. but I think it had dents, look at the picture showing the the hood from below. look at the link below, it is in new mexico.. but this Z draws a smile on the face:) BuDavid,If you find a 240Z or 280Z on the Sacramento area Craigslist, I can check it out for you. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/ Nota280, allright.. thanks alot. the Z new mexico (if it is still for sale) http://www.classiczcars.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2031&cat=1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25844-so-im-planning-to-get-an-s30-z-240-or-280/?&page=7#findComment-225943 Share on other sites

The ad itself has expired, so I'm not sure if its a '70 or '71...('70 is more valuable). I think that the light is playing tricks with the photo. The photo from the top of the hood looks fine and if one side beat up, the other side should be too. Of that one and the one in New Mexico, the silver seems like a much better deal to me...Or Asta's. Not sure how complete the work is, but it look like you could eat off the floors (a very good way to start with a Z). October 29, 200717 yr comment_226615 Good morning, Bigoak, et al.I'm always in awe when I see the results of what you have done with these road-bullets! Don't know why I think of them that way, but I do. The Zs just look like they're in the barrel and ready to fly! We've been driving my Brother's 1971 240Z since we all agreed it was time to sell her, and have had some work done. Admittedly, this weekend after driving her around the neighborhood, in the hills, on the freeways, I remember why we love her! True, I also love my 1988 Acura Integra LS with still less than 84,000 miles (treasured pet, as the others), but to equate the two is like talking German to a fish. In the Z, I'm so right on the street/low-tight-right and powerful. WOW, what a car! BUT .... the Z doesn't have power steering, holy cow, what a reality-set! So, thank goodness this lady lifts weights, I could do it! Had to share; forgive me if I stepped into your thread uninvited. We're selling our 1971 240Z, not because we are thrilled to let her go, but because we don't have a place to house her for the winter, and she wants love. Thanks again, for letting me participate in this thread. I'm grateful. I'm also thinking maybe that I want to polish up the very top of her where the shiny stuff that was put over the original green paint is kinda bubbling. I'm thinking this is just a lacquer or something, since when I applied a little wax to the underneath of it onto the pain directly, it looked pretty daggoned good so maybe I should take off the bubbly shiny stuff and simonize? Don't know, just talking outloud. Whew, sorry for being so long-winded. Getting older by the minute, needing to decide about our family Z. Letting go isn't always so easy. Then comes who to let it go to. Not everyone who buys a 240Z treasure treasures it, and it seems we ought to be selective; but maybe not.":0) I'm blah blahing, sorry. October 29, 200717 yr comment_226617 I hasten to add, that the 'bubbly' effect on the rooftop is very topical, it's like I take my rag and rub and it's gone, but think it's some kind of finish my brother had put over the paint at the dealer back when to keep it shiny and protected. Don't know, he doesn't remember what it was either. But again, when I apply any wax to it, it look really good so maybe I should get some kind of sandstone or lowgrade buffing stuff to get past the peeling stuff and wax/polish all the roof. It looks really good when I do. But then, I'm told that I should leave things alone, sell it and let the buyers do what they want.WHAA! Dunno.
