Mystery center caps

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever seen center caps such as these? They came with the wheels (photo) on my '71 Z when I bought it. Any idea what they might be? My appraiser suggest American Racing but wasn't sure.

I haven't pulled the wheels off yet to check their brand (being a little lazy I guess).

Any thoughts are appreciated.

There look like old Eagle Alloys. I've seen that logo on a newer set but it also says 'Spirit Of America' around the eagle.

The wheels remind me of Western or Superior. Not sure without more data. The three-bar spinners are third party - they did not come with the wheels originally, as they were for "off road use only" due to DOT regulations. As such, the emblem on the spinners are a red herring, at best.

I'll pull a wheel off today and see if I can get a brand or somthing...

Don't be surprised if you don't find much - a lot of those old wheels weren't really marked on the back.
