Surge Tank Question

Featured Replies

What year did they switch from the plastic tank to the metal one?

Bought a nice metal tank last year, but it is too large for my '71. Good thing the original plastic one is in good shape.

Just curious.

Mid-year in '71. Both my 10/70 and the 4/71 parts car had plastic, but the 7/71 has metal. So somewhere between April and July of '71.

:) According to my parts book (the last paper issue) plastic tanks were used through 6/71, metal started in 7/71.

Thanks for the info.

Anyone need a metal surge tank in really good condition?

HH

While we're on this, I've got a really good (uncracked) plastic one I don't need as well.
