240z Tranny Problem

Hey guys,

I have a 72 240z that will not shift into reverse. I can shift into all four forward gears, but it will not shift into reverse. The clutch is disengaging properly and appears to be adjusted properly. It feels like something mechanical is not allowing me to shift. Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Have you tried putting it into 2nd gear, then shifting into reverse? That is the only way I can put my car into reverse without that damn grinding noise. :)
