I would think the color would match the dash and the vinyl trim that runs up the interior windshield frame.

As for the gloss, I don't like the dash shiny because it creates glare. I painted my dash and filler panel with satin black.

Mine was painted the same color as the dash (and old dash cap) so when I replaced the dash cap, I painted it all the same color ( black vinyl paint.) I think that it would be a good idea to paint that part and anything else under the windscreen with something that won't reflect the sun into your eyes or back at the windscreen.

well the paint color turned out to be MINOR compared to what else I did!!!

Po had painted the rear tail light surrounds many many tmes

and i atempped to strip it back,, WELL let me tell you DONT use AIRCRSFT stripper, ate the material, now I am struggleing to find new ones !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! arrrrgh!!!
