February 17, 200718 yr comment_199603 ts way bigge rthan 19mm and it's even bigger than 1" that a little more than 25mm. Anybody know what size it is ? Looks like it will need to be thin walled too. It's 27mm although post #3 above mentions that 1 1/8" will also work. According to Google:1.12500 in = 28.57500 millimetersso that might be a little loose but at that size it probably doesn't matter much. Good luck at the hardware store. February 17, 200718 yr Author comment_199656 Afternoon Everyone First of all lets just say I was real real wrong , there is nothing wrong with timing. View first photo . This photo was taken with a welding rod in #1 Spark plug whole (feeling Top centre) in reality the rod touches just inside the whole,a 1 +1/16 socket on Crank shaft Pulley, The timing appears near perfect to me. I applied a drop of silver paint in the general area of the notch in the pulley, to make it easier to see. The rotor is pointing directly at where the tab is at on the outide of Distributer cap.(corresponds with #1 spark plug terminal inside Cap) See photo #2. I'll tell ya what wasn't perfect though The Cause The rotor is able to rock laterally (I could move it towards the head, and towards the inner Fender. This rotor was supplied to me New in a box when I purchased a USED Distributer from someone from another club. It appears he supplied the wrong rotor for this Application. Though in his defence the bonehead behind the counter at Canadian tire could be the culpret. The box is marked as Standard and has a part # JR85 I'm actually worried the cap is also wrong.(they were suplied as a pair) Cap box is marked Standard and has a part # JH74 The Effect There are gouges out of the contact points on one side of the Distributer cap See photo #3. Solution I have included a couple of pictures of the offending rotor (underside shots), and of a rotor that was in tough shape but came on the Used dizzy I Purchased. I suspect the old rotor is the correct one and will attempt to clean up as best I can. I would like an opinion as to whether anyone's rotor looks like the old one (bottom of the two in PHOTO #4 ) If anybody would have appropriate part # and manufacturer I'd really appreciate it. Actually, you could throw in a part number for a cap too, as its likey this is somehow wrong also . Fits good though. GROAAAAAN! Oh Well, at least I suspect I know what the problem is.
