260z on Ebay/ horrible body work

Featured Replies

Yes, but read on..... "The headliner is nearly perfect."

On the serious side, with this one at least the buyer has a fairly good indication of the actual condition. We've all seen some likely worse than this that have been disguised to look like new...... but six months later you've got one that looks like this.

If they really cut the rust out completely they did someone a favor. They left the hard points so, you could easily replace the missing metal.Remember these cars get dirt and water trapped in the seams and rust from the inside. No trap no rust. The price is a little out there for the west coast. But, then again you can always ask.

The "drives like a small corvette" coment tells me all I need to know....he thinks it is a Shriners parade car!

OH gawd wow. I hope no one actualy buys this and especially at that price, use it as a parts car. Makes me wanna cry....

a7dz has a great point. Once rust is cut out, the car always looks worse than it should, but that's just how it goes before welding in new panels. Buyer saves a bunch of time and $$$ from that work, provided it was well-done...

With that said, he left out key pics (frame rail, floors, batt pan etc) so I wonder if he got to this point, then got overwhelmed by the degree of damage. $2000? Hmph. Probably not based on what he's shown us (and more importantly, left out), but could be the base for someone's cool resto-rod...might end up being a diamond in the rough, but I'm always optimistic
