You could actually design your own "talking lady" using some simple wiring pieces from radio shack. I was thinking about building a prototype, but decided it'd be too much work.

"Simple...too much work" Hmmm.

I would have my car say things I won't type here!:stupid:

I stand corrected, I never knew the 280 had one.

Sorry for being WRONG. LOL

The 280 never had one. For whatever reason they're talking about a 280ZX.

Yhea I know. T'was not ignorance, but laziness that prevented me from actually typing the Z and the X.

LOL

whatever you'd want her to say. Lets say that you leave the door open, with what I was going to build, you would be able to record exactly what you wanted it to say. So, lets say you want the box to tell you "hey big boy, you left the door open", you'd get someone to record it onto the little microchip using a microphone, hook it up to the door plunger and fusebox, and voila, a talking lady. I think the recording kit ran for like $12 at radioshack.

Check to see if the speaker in the middle of the dash is working i believe that is where she says hi. it was on some 280zx and early z31 stopped in 87 i believe. I like mine others say they hate it.

There is a wee bit more to it than that, unless you want to hear that every time you open the door, and not only when you leave it open for an extended period of time. You could put a pause at the beginning of the recording, or put a delay timer in the circuit just after the trigger switch.
