Yep! I actually paid $3 for that one at a yard sale. It's missing a passenger (left) side mirror.

...but back to the Speed Racer bit... There was a guy a few years back turning C5 Vettes into Mach 5's, a bit pricey for me but the mach 5 was my dream car as a young fella. Yes, it is. All I meant is that somewhere around post 25-26 it changed from movies to models.

I had heard about the movie a while back and nothing since...interested in seeing it when/if it comes out though! I have the complete 52-episode Speed Racer collection on a collectors edition DVD set that was available a few years back.

As for the question about the car, the base would be a Corvette. It's already been done! I wish I had all of my bookmarks with me (I'm in a hotel not at home where my bookmarks are). You guys just need to do a little Google searching. Here are a couple links I found:

The word is that United Artists gave the go-ahead for the filming to resume. No idea about the release date tho. The movie isn't supposed to be about high-speed car action, but more about the characters. But I don't see how you can make a movie about racecar driver & family without some racing.
