Oz ebay - 240Z carbies going cheap.

Featured Replies

Maybe they came in different types or maybe I just haven't noticed, but what's that flying-saucer thing on the top of the manifold?

Thats for the EGR (emission) The 260 has them.

I hate being a doubting Thomas, however I don't think the're from a 240Z.

Yes they look more like British SU's to me.

They look like 3 screw 240z round tops bolted to a 260z manifold or maybe the car had air con, and thats the thing that increased the idle speed when the ac was on.

But it has been a while since i saw my carbies......

The casting of the domes doesn't look like the british SUs I once had.

No... that is the EGR valve. The idle speed a/c valve was mounted at an angle with a hook like attachment to the throttle mechanism.

The manifold is most definately off a RS-30 or derivitives, which leads to speculation about the SU's. A bit of a bitza I would say.....
