My brother's friend let me and my bro part it out the other day. But, the strange thing was it was a rag top, was it after market or did some Z's come like that. Just wondering seems kinda weird to me.

There was an aftermarket kit to turn Z's into ragtops. They discontinued the sale of it about 3 or 4 years ago.

Some 1st gen Zs also had vinyl tops. Maybe that's what he's referring to. It wasn't very common, and really helped the rust take hold, but at least in my 78 owners manual, it has a section on caring for the vinyl top.
