Konig Rewinds

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just installed a set of Konig Rewinds on my 70 Z. I bought them from MSA but could not get the center caps on. Anyone else run into this problem?

Any solutions?

Mark

Yes, I've seen other complaints on this as well. The caps aren't deep enough to clear the 240Z hubs and dust covers. Some people simply leave the caps off, or you could put a 1/4" spacer behind the wheel. Or I suppose you could convert to 280Z hubs and rotors, but that seems excessive to me.

I have a '77... flattened my grease caps "gently" with a hammer, and the caps then fit. Have heard of others with earlier 1st-gens that were unable to get the caps to fit.

You think you have centre cap problems......... you dont want to hear my story!! LOL

Good luck to you - looks like flattening the dust caps is the best (ie cheapest and easiest) answer.
