I'm sure you mean Mort Sahl rather than Sal. He, Murray Roman, and Lenny Bruce were among my favorite comedians back in the day. They were really more like humorists or liberal social critics/satirists than comedians. Lenny died in the sixties (drugs), Murray Roman died in the seventies (car crash) but Mort Sahl is still with us, last I heard.
