Rx7 Seats

Featured Replies

I picked up a pair of of black leather RX7 seats today at the wrecking yard I believe from about an 89 model. The price was $25 each and they are not in bad shape no large tares or holes etc. All the need is a little tender loving care. Has any one used these seats before? Also any one know of a good place to order leather dye and oils etc?

Will try to get pics up soon if any one is interested.

Lexol is the best leather care out there, it is available from Pepboys, Advance Autoparts, and cheeper off the web.

Post some pictures and measurements from your install for the archives.

I recently purchased some leather paint for my Toyota MR2 from Turtle Feathers. Very fast shipping, great prices and helpful advice from David.

Thanks for the tip on Lexol I will check it out some more. I have been doing some research and http://www.leatherique.com/ seems to have the best reviews even over Lexol so far but I will check into it some more.

As soon as I have my differential and gas tank back on then I will try and get the seats installed and post some pics. Looks like its going to be snug fit.

I installed the RX7 seats and the fit fine the the 260z. If any one is interested I will try and get some pics up.

Always nice to see some pics. Especially if you've had to do much work with the frame rails.

They look like a good choice of seat.

it would be good to know what you did to mount the seats. Di you modify the mounts?

thx

It was rather easy to mount them. I took the mounts off the RX7 seats and put the factory 260z rails on them. I had to drill one hole for each frame rail and used one hole that was already on the bottom of the RX7 seats. Then you have the same distance front to back on the rails but they are wider than the factory seats so you have to drill new holes in the Z. Oh and also on the side of the RX7 seat that takes factory rail that had the slider control you have to make a little bend in the metal so that it has room to bold down snug. Realy not a bad swap. I will try and get some pictures in the next few days.

Finaly got a chance to take some pics. Still need to do a little adjusting on the seats but they are a big improvement over stock.
