MSA exhaust

Have 71, considering leaving factory manifold alone. Would you guys recommend the MSA "Targa" or "Turbo" for the stock implementation?

I have owned both , I like the sound of both as well, the turbo one sound more like a indy car/ v8 motor where the sound of the targa had more european , old aston / ferrari sound minus the singing of the webbers, but both setups have headers. The turbo one is not quiet and I got that one because of the large diameter pipe and targe is like under 2 diameter if I am correct, and the turbo is 2 1/2 , I do like the look of the targa better , but work well but it all depends as wel if you are leaving the car stock as in motor wise . but I am sure you will get lots of feedback on the sounds of the two . But leaving the factory manifold on I would go targa,Good luck

Derk, weren't you the lucky individual that found that Z in your avatar in a barn after sitting for a couple of decades? If it is how's she going?

Haven't touched it in a year.... 8 kids and an MBA will do that to you. Back at it though.

Let us all know how it goes. I'm interested in the Euro sound myself, for my 180Z

thx

don't get twice pipes.. unless you want a loud.. open exhuast race car sound..

yeh

twice pipes are very loud ill vouch for that i keep getting pulled over for it

too many others have the same setup, might as well buy the piping but perhaps try a different muffler. The piping is nice since it is aluminized and mandrel bent.

I like my borla stainless muffler....

Well compared to most turbo mufflers which sound fat, the borla sounds more mid toned at idle and makes the motor sound really tight at the top end. Can't remember the exact model, but here is what it looks like compared to a turbo Dynomax. I have been told my motor sounds great. I wish I had a audio clip!
