is there a way to remove the black plastic handle off of the hand brake lever? On the roadster, it was glued, and with a twist and a pull, off it came. The Z's handle seems more stubborn. I'd like to take it off to sand out the scratches then hit it on the polishing wheel for the "Oh My!" shine.

All S30Z's came with the black plastic handle, I'm guessing the 'wood' one was an aftermarket addon?

Isn't it bakelite? Thats what it feels like to me. That stuff gets really fragile with age
