I also love the idea of adding a lift (they've gotten MUCH cheaper) but wasn't sure if I'd make the height. Even though the Z is short, the lift brackets use some height (6"), etc.

What is your floor to cieling (rafter bottoms) height?

Do you have/were you able to keep a garage door opener or did that have to go (I suspect it would).

To figure out if you can fit a lift in your garage measure the height of your two vehicles and add 10". That is the minium height that your ceiling needs to be. My rafters were 10'. This could vary slightly depending on the lift mfg. Mine is sold by Eagle Equipment.

I moved the garage door opener between the rafters and added 2' foot extentions of track for the door. If you look at the photo you can see the opener above the roof of the GTO. You can also see the difference in height of the tracks next to the other bays tracks. Very simple changes that took about an hour by myself to do.

The neat thing about this lift is that I purchased the optional wheels that hook onto the front and back of the ramps while in the air. When you lower it the wheels are lower than the posts so they raise up a few inches. You can then move it around the garage even with a car still on it. You're not stuck with it in just one spot.
