Posted May 9, 200421 yr comment_80329 Hey AllIm currently going over the engine bay trying to get it back to as original as possible. In my quest I have noticed that the inlet and exhaust manifolds have been removed before and reattached with incorrect type bolts.Close inspection revealed what I think to be an original bolt remaining in the forward most hole under the thermostat housing. This bolt is a Nissan spec bolt, the head is stamped with a 4 and it has a single lock washer and a single, oversize plain washer. I am yet to remove it so dont know if the washers are integral with the bolts.I thought that "7" spec bolts would be more appropriate for this application, but the car is an early car (believed 09/71, Australian spec, A type tranny etc), so I thought that maybe the early cars had the "4" spec bolt whereas the later cars had the "7" spec bolt.Is anyone able to fill me in on what is correct? Would anyone have a Nissan part number available for the bolts and washers etc?Id also like to know how many bolts I need and how many studs I need and the location of each as the parts book seems to be a little confusing in this regard. Thanks for any help.RegardsJoseph Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11642-one-for-the-puristsmanifold-attachment/ Share on other sites
