Posted April 27, 200421 yr comment_78680 OK, I've been to see Kill Bill Vol.2 (thoroughly enjoyed it - go see both if get the chance). I need to know what kind of car Bill drives. It was parked in the background of the scenes where Bill is talking with his brother at his trailer in the desert.Who can help me? April 27, 200421 yr comment_78691 I want to say a DeTomaso Pantera but I'm not sure.http://www.carnut.com/cgi-bin/02/image.pl?/show/02/wsu/wsu079.jpg Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11453-kill-bill-vol2-bills-car/#findComment-78691 Share on other sites
April 27, 200421 yr Author comment_78698 I thought so too but the rear hatch glass and tail-light treatment looked very different to the DeToms I've seen. It also had obscenely fat rubber on the rear! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11453-kill-bill-vol2-bills-car/#findComment-78698 Share on other sites
April 27, 200421 yr comment_78722 The car pictured in the link is very similar with the side windows door, and wheel arch/wheel combination from what I vaugely remember, but it had a hatch and different rear. Should have payed more attention. Someone somewhere will know, and hopefully they frequent this site. Perhaps it is a slightly different model, or perhaps a custom job. April 27, 200421 yr comment_78749 How's it going fellas - I have never been on this site before but yours was the first post I looked at as I was interested in Bill's car as well. I saw the movie yesterday - the car was only visible for a couple of seconds, but I would be pretty confident in saying that it is a early 70's Maserati, probably a Merak, but maybe a Khamsin or a Bora. You weren't far off on the De Tomaso call - they took over Maser in 1975... May 24, 200420 yr comment_82528 Mangusta - wild old beast of a car!!!!. They had a rear mounted V8 with a very high centre of gravity that gave it a reputation for cornering problems similar to that of Porsche 911.One of the very rare RHD ones that had just been sold to some young gun turned up at a meeting at mallory park in the UK about 15 years ago when I was there. Mallory Park has a lethal off camber down hill left hand corner that goes past the pits, and after about 2 laps the guy in the mangusta spun it about half the length of the pit straight. Undeterred he tried even harder and a couple of laps later stuffed it backwards into the pit wall.Wierd looking car though, pantera looks much nicer IMHOAndrew Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11453-kill-bill-vol2-bills-car/#findComment-82528 Share on other sites
