Hi All, I was wondering if anyone of you out there could tell me where I could find a set of head light covers that have the plastics tabs. I know that Motor Sports sells the version that has the metal clips in three areas but I am really on the hunt for the plastic tab version. Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Wow, if that's the case, then someone had a great deal of insight and money to have done that back in the late '70's when I saw them.

I saw a few 240z years ago with metal "crank back" tops that appeared to be factory. I was a kid but I remember clearly that the sun roofs where metal. Does anyone know if there were a few Z cars with factory roofs?
  4. Wow you guys are great. From the great response I received from all of you I have learned that the belts in my car are original for my 70. I thought the 70 only had lap belts so that's why I was on the hunt for at set. Mine are in great condition since they seemed to have been tucked behind the seat for some time. Thanks all!
  5. Hi All, Can someone point me to where I can find a nice set of correct seat belts for a 1970?

    Another happy Hagerty customer.
  7. Hi, Here in Palm Springs, CA where in the past few days it has been in the low 100's my '70 240's temp gauge does not move pass the half mark. Infact, it spent over 10 minutes ideling in my drive way and the needle did not budge pass the half mark.

  9. OK, Thanks I guess I purchased this 72 version that is now worthless to me
  10. Hi all, I know there's a thread on this somewhere but I could not find it. My question is this. Besides the ash tray will a 72 center cosole mount right up to a 70z with an August build date?
  11. Thanks to all for helping me find a nice set of Amco over riders. Special thanks to Tom for going out of his way to help me find the elusive rear over rider. Tom you are the man and your Z is killer!
  12. I am looking for the Amco over rider bars. I am located in Palm Springs\Torrance, CA

When I was younger a remember seeing at least two metal roll back type sunroof Zs. They appeared to be factory to me.
  14. Hi All, I am hunting for a set of bumper overiders for a 70 Z. If anyone has any leads please let me know. Thanks
  15. I thought early 71's were up to March 71? Oh well I guess you do learn something everyday
  16. Wow, This looks promising. It even has the OG hubcaps. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Datsun-240z-Driver-Restore-or-Parts_W0QQitemZ200011460794QQihZ010QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  17. Carl, The data plate and the engine number is: 014389
  18. Thanks all I appreciate everyone's input. Like I said the paint is not what I want to leave on the car. It is a few shades lighter than the original and there are a few dings that I want to take care of.
  19. I get your point, but I was referring to hoses of the correct length. Some of the hoses were replaced with hoses that seem to long or did not have the proper bend.
  20. Thanks all, As soon as I get it on the lift I will take better pictures. The angles of the pictures taken were not to hide anything they were simply the best I could get laying on the ground. As for taking her apart, I really think she deserves a great paint job. The paint job on her now is good but certainly not something I would want to keep on her. Somewhere in her life someone decided to give her a Macco type paint job where they painted the car with all the window rubber intact So what I am saying is that I am not planning a full restore I just want replace rubbers that had some paint, replace the engine hoses with the correct hoses, drop and clean the fuel tank, and then paint the car. I will do some things myself but due to lack of time and professional commitments I will more than likely have it done and Pierre's Z center. I've seen some of the work he's done and I am really impressed.
