Mirror fun. Okay I lied. It was not fun.
BTW i still have those black rear view mirrors from your old 240Z. They'll end up in the trash or on ebay eventually. SHould have let me know, i would have given you a GREAT deal on them!! (for those who know the story, insert a sarcastic tone on that last part...) Michael

Interior Panels
I use a small hex wrench to push them out because it has a nice flat end and doesn't leave marks on the pins.

Nice fresh look!
Looks good but it's gonna take a little time to find everything again. The only problem I have is that the forums look very much like lots of forums I've seen online - the old look was quite unique I think. But whichever you keep you can't beat the content here!! Michael

Interested in a Classic Zcar Email address and/or web site?
Just out of curiousity how much space would be allowed on the server for web serving? Is web page material restricted to Z stuff - i'm sure there would be decency restrictions but what about other interests. Would it be cheaper w/out the email account , only for page hosting? I also don't need another email addy. I wouldn't mind getting all of my car stuff off of my university site - but I don't wanna pay $10 a month (my page is free here). Any requirements for advertising etc? Interesting idea. The only real problem I see is that it's fairly easy to find free hosts w/ maybe 10 or 20M space (but covered w/ pop-ups). Also for my webpage I edit the HTML files using PICO by telnet, and upload stuff using FTP. What method of file editing or development are available? If you have any development tools that would be available (not canned pages!!) that would be a nice incentive.... Michael

Header Question, please advise
I have a header question I thought I'd tag on here. Below is a pic of my ports with the manifold and header removed. It's a P79 head. I guess I should be using a header with round ports but from the shape of the black stuff around the exhaust ports it looks like the header that was on there was actually sort of square. Is this what you call square ports? I wouldn't call these exactly square but maybe that's the terminology? If these marks aren't "square" then what is this header really for? I'd like to know so I can sell the header. Thanks for the help!!! MIchael

Dash Restoration
Just out of curiosity has anyone done a 240Z dash in a color other than black to match the interior color? I'd be interested in seeing how it turns out. So far I've only seen black. I guess one problem with that is that not all of the panels in the car match the interior color, mainly the center console, the cover for the fuse box, and the strips just under the doors near the floor. I guess those could be painted but I'm not sure how it would hold up on that plastic, and getting them to match the dash and stock interior would be tough!!! Anyway I'd love to see some pics if it's been done! Michael

350Z TV Ads
I liked the plates but they didn't show the new Z almost at all. ONly a 1.5 second shot of the Z rear end - the ugliest part in my opinion too!!

Car Of The Month
Nice photoshoot EricB. That's the way car pics should be taken. Garage pics and "in front of the house" pics get a little old. But I can't really talk, I don't have any pics of my car out of the garage!!!!!!!!! OH an Mike, i know you're busy but it'd be cool if the Car of the Month link also went to some little text write-up on the car written by the owner. Maybe with specs, mods, upgrades and other info the owner wants to throw out. Just an idea.. MIchael

Here's the rusty area....
I'd say start scraping away the undercoating and dirt and see what you've really got. hOpefully you won't be suprised like I was!!! also try to get right underneath it and on the other side - you may have holes there.... http://www.utdallas.edu/~perdue/rustpics/rust4.jpg This car has since gone to scrapper... http://www.utdallas.edu/~perdue/8-17-02-front.jpg hahaha... oh the memories... 240 Z doors complete
Yeah i've thought about that escnlon but I'm hoping to find some nice "originals". The ones I have aren't too bad - just have a couple of nasty rips. I've also got a real nice set of red door panels I could paint - but I hate to paint over a rare set of panels such as those. But anyway, putting my car back together is a LONG WAY OFF so I can keep looking - never know when you'll get lucky! MIchael

Ebay for Z Cars
What I think would be more helpful is a site that goes through all the ebay auctions and lists them in catagories like you show on your page. The Z car parts on Ebay get spread around over many catagories that aren't directly related to Z's. I usually search "240Z" or "Datsun" and find most of them, but they're aren't split up in catagories. If there were a site that would do the searching for me I'd check it all the time! One problem with making a new auction site is that it's hard to get lots of people to register and check it. The whole world is already using ebay so you know you'll get the best selling price.
