  1. Hello Gents, My car is a '71 240Z. I am wondering how much I should budget for the following serviceable interior parts in good condition (assuming I can find them): 1. Dash, complete with no cracks 2. Door panels, complete with good chrome trim, armrests, window cranks, etc. 3. Steering wheel 4. Center console, including ashtray and fusebox cover. Thanks, Gary S.

Hello Kelly, I also just recently acquired my Z. Victoria British has a website where you can order parts, but the website does not have the full listing of all the parts they carry. I recently requested and received their catalog (quite extensive at 130 pages) and they show their part number 71-602 OIL PRESSURE SENDER-GAUGE 280Z ZX 78-83 for $39.95. They also have an 800 phone number - 1-800-255-0088. I think I'd call them to verify this part number, because curiously they show the '78 sender to be a different part number from the '70-'77 Also, Courtesy Nissan has an online parts department. Hope you enjoy your new car! Gary S.
  3. Yes, Gary D., the car is one and the same. And yes, it's interesting how one's current financial situation plays into decisions and purchases. I recall Carl Beck's advice, to paraphrase...When it comes to Z's, you can't pay too much for a good one, and you can't pay too little for a bad one. I wish you had seen the car so we could compare notes. If you come to Spokane, perhaps we can meet? Gary S.
  4. Gary D., I found the car in Wenatchee, WA. It originally lived in the Van Nuys, CA. area (purchased from a dealership called "Le Mans Motors", Inc. in San Bernadino). According to the owner, almost all of it's roadgoing miles were accumulated in the Southern Cali. area. Rust issues, Neil Young's lyrics notwithstanding, are blessedly minimal. Gary S.
  5. Darrell and bemmerguy714, thanks for the welcome. GunnerRob, I sent the Visa card number and expiration date to you in a Private Message...can't be giving that out to just anybody you know! :paranoid:
  6. Duly noted Rob (and changed accordingly). Thanks for the suggestion, and for introducing yourself. GS
  7. ...glad to join your ranks! I live in Spokane, Washington in case any locals read this post and want to make their proximity known. I've been using the site for awhile, using the search function a bit, and reading some very interesting threads (love the "Z Restoration Program" thread!). The reason for introducing myself to the board at this time is because, after a lengthy search, I brought a '71 240-Z home last weekend. I'm very pleased with the overall condition of the car, but, as one would expect with a car that is 34 years old, there are some issues I wll need to deal with. To you, the administrators and participants of this site, thanks for such a great resource. As the new owner of a classic car in need of refreshing, your collective knowledge is invaluable. Cheers, Gary S.
