someone tell me what this...
This pic is from a 10/70 240Z that I purchased as a parts car with the help of beandip (Gary). It has two of the toggle style switches mounted in this area of the dash you are discussing. The car appears to be original except for the wheel and seat which are just replacements for transport---- I am pretty sure that the lower toggle is for the emergency flashers and is correct as it should be. I wonder if the upper toggle switch is for foglights, as you describe them Arne. It does have the blanking plate in the center console next to the choke indictor light, which is where some have said the optional parking lamp switches would normally be located. Any comments?? Thanks Jim D. "Zup"

How Close Are Our VIN #'s
I'm pretty darn close to some of you--- Vin #HLS30 07032 build date of 7/70 It has fresh new paint #919 (70/71 yellow). Original engine and tranny----doing the resto/refresh thing----bought "Bad260Z" (Jordan's) 10/70 240Z for the interior and bits 'n pieces you have to have to do one-- I enlisted "beandip" (Gary) as consultant/advisor/transportation crewchief to ready the car for shipping to the Ozarks of Arkansas from Oregon. What a great gearhead guy! I'll post pics of progress as soon as I get it back from the painter. Thanks to all of you----I never would have begun without this group. Every day I learn more and more from each of you. I hope to "pay it forward" in time. Jim D. "Zup"

PPG color number or code?
And thanks to you Jimmy! That was exactly what I wanted to see---the original color sample chart from PPG. I didn't know it was Ditzler Automotive Finishes (evidently a subsidiary of PPG, Industries) even though I have read about Ditzler in Wick Humble's How to Restore Your Datsun Z Car . While I appreciated getting the color number posted by Steve, when I went to the PPG website and entered the color number, the page with the color chart was listed as unavailable on their site-- Your link to the 1971 Imported car color chart with chips was just the ticket! :classic: Now for some Ditzler 81908 (919) yellow!!! I'm trying to be an Honorary NW Yellow 240 Z member. I've talked with Gary (beandip) about it----I live in the Northwest! It just happens to be Northwest Arkansas. Thanks again to everyone! Jim D. PPG color number or code?
Hey gang--- Fixin' to paint the Z!! Does anyone know what the color number or code is in PPG Paint for the original Datsun Z color number 919? I'd like to match the original color on my 7/70 240. Here's a pic I borrowed from zhome.com Thanks in advance for helping! Jim D. "Zup"

what is a "shunt"
I was discussing this with Stephen (sblake01), as I was looking for a transistor ignition module for a 75 280Z. I found the module from a board member named Doug (dnicol) and while I was at it asked about the shunt for "bloxman". He has the part in hand. All I need now is to get it to "bloxman". Jim D. "Zup"

Looking for wheel spinners for Libre's
Hey Matt-- You might go to e-bay and look up a seller named "TorqueThrust.Terry's Accessories". He deals in American Racing Equipment rims and caps/spinners. He has several different styles---here's one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/American-Racing-leMans-Libre-knockoffs-Datsun-Triumph_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43961QQihZ019QQitemZ8058994547 Give him an e-mail. He should be able to find or get what you are looking for. Let's see a pic of those Libre's! :classic: Jim D. "Zup"

Need a 32k Orig. Mile 70 240Z?
Moonpup-- I totally agree about the radio----8 track---audio fossil appears in the MP3 reality of the present! A guy might have to go to the pawn shop and find a "Johnny Rivers Greatest Hits" tape (7th Son, Maybelline, Memphis, Tracks of My Tears) Takes a feller back, it does!! Ahemm---what's that blue cylinder on the passenger side of the engine compartment? I'll bet it ain't NO2! But I've never seen it before. :cross-eye Jim D. "Zup'
