  3. Here is the magic mix.... I bet it will also work nicely on the door strike bumpers for show cars: Retr0Bright Restores Yellowed Vintage Plastic to Factory Fresh
  4. I read a trick for cleaning yellowed plastic. Immerse in peroxide and expose to sunlight for a day or two. Not sure how well it works or what exact type of plastic but it may be worth trying.
  5. Nice colour... reminds me of dark blue ink the way it changes in the sun!
  6. I never met him but I loved the guy....you could see his helpfulness and sincerity to others all the time. A true human. I feel sick with sadness. It is a great loss to all here. Prayers will go to him and his family throughout Lent.
  7. Don't forget acetone and transmission fluid 50/50mix and squirt in the centre hole and ends as you press. Use the press to work the pin back and forth to let the lubricant penetrate and make it easier to ultimately push it all the way. FYI: Source: Machinist's Workshop Magazine (April 2007) Pentrating oil--------Average load None------------------------516 pounds WD-40----------------------238 pounds PB Blaster------------------214 pounds Liquid Wrench-------------127 pounds Kano Kroil------------------106 pounds ATF-Acetone mix------------53 pounds (mixed 1 to 1 ratio) .
  9. What is the undercoating that you used? It looks interesting.

Maybe too much heat got into the pins and weakened them?
  12. I think the three mystery parts are from the back of the car near the "end of the lines" bad pun. I think the bottom row second from left ? is the rubber that holds the fuel send, fuel return, and evaporation vent line. I saw it just before the rear differential-hanger-unibody-cross-member in a 71 I restored. I believe the top row 2nd ? from left is the rubber that holds the same lines plus the rear brake line and it is the next closest to the front of the car. It is up just behind the two E-brake fixtures that are welded to the unibody above the front differential strap. I believe the top row 1st ? from the left is the rubber that holds the same lines and it is the next closest to the front of the car. It is up in front of the two E-brake fixtures that are welded to the unibody above the front differential strap.

For the big 1 piece seal, I applied a first pass of sealant lightly then taped it into position. Once it set, I ran a second pass with more sealant.

Pep Boys have hardware bins with a variety of stainless steel screws.
  17. Water may be fine. I used soapy water in a spray bottle when I did this... but the new paint had cured for 8 months.
  18. All of the above that EScanlon says !!!! and here is a nice trick to add: I used longer new screws (actually bolts with same threads) to pull the window in from farther out. Once the 4 bolts have it pulled in, you can change them out with the original screws one at a time. You can do it in several steps if you want with very long, then medium, then short bolts. The long bolts make alignment much easier than with the tiny original screws

You have lots of support here in Canada... Jim Karst is someone who can help you out on the forum and for advice, parts and service. He is in Calgary. There is also a great Z nut in Red Deer too on this forum... Dan Wells. Join a local Zcar club... I think Edmonton's may still be active, Calgary's is for sure. If you are ever in the Atlantic provinces let us know at the AtlanticZ car club! WELCOME
