I see the guy who built all the Scarabs in England at the VRG race events and I think Dan or someone should interview him.

Site CONSENSUS on early Z with V8 transplant
Funny you mentioned a V8 in a Ferrari as I was driving a 348 ts yesterday. Sexy as hell from the outside, a pain in the azz to get in and out of and the amount of room they left over for the three pedals is really, really small. Then add a gated shifter and it becomes a problem all in itself.

Another MSA door weatherstrip problem
You can shrink the seal using solvent, slam the door and leave the car in the sun.

That's a Marcos GT trying to cut inside of me. At one point on the front straight, I split two MGs and the Marcos passed the MG on my right on the MG's right. We were four wide at the start/finish and no one got a picture!!

Coolant Should Not Contain Anti-Freeze?
The only time my street Z or the race car have anti-freeze in them is in the winter as protection against the possible loss of heat in my garage. Both get flushed out in the Spring and I add DI water and non-green colored water-wetter (red lets the track inspectors know you don't have coolant in the radiator). A coolant spill on a race track is a very bad thing I ran 33 miles on the track today with ambient temps in the low 80s and my water temp gauge never got to 180.

[2014] What did you do to/with your Z today?
Washed and waxed the car. Removed the leaking 3-qt accusump with a whole lot less mess than expected. Decided to repaint the passenger side floor while it was out. Tightened up the rest of the oil line connections and then safety wired the oil sender, oil pan plug, tranny fill and drain plugs along with the diff plugs. Will reconnect accusump tomorrow but will need to wait for a better time to start the engine other than Mother's Day on a quiet street to verify there are no new oil leaks.

John Coffey was a strong advocate of the wider front stance but it's not allowed in vintage. As to the same all around tire sizes, when I asked Bob Sharp if he could only drive one of the Zs which one would it be, he choose the 260 with the 15 inch wide rears. That's 30 inches of R compound Goodyear to let you hook up quicker coming out of a turn and the ability to throw it harder in the turn knowing it would stick.

floor pan advice, classiz 2 current any good?
I was working at MEC and came in from Boston so I flew back and forth every month or so. No problem re cost. We all operate on a budget.

floor pan advice, classiz 2 current any good?
You can fab up something for the seats I'm sure. The price on the brackets went up due to increases in material and shipping costs. Too bad this wasn't last year as I spent nearly 6 months in Sioux City. Could have brought them with me and saved you the price of shipping.

Grant83 - whether Z or not there are several ways to make a car faster - more HP, lose weight, suspension set-up, tires and most important of all, a fast driver. I am semi-fast. Blue - during vintage events we are required to run 15X7 so it's 225 all around and a double set of wheel spacers in the back. Still looks like crap. The ones in the rear in the photo are 15X10 and you can get a replacement inner or outer lip, those special bolts and o-rings from (okay, I'm having a senior moment)....I will look in my extensive invoice file later today and report back.

If the speedo isn't working looking through a hole in the floor can provide a fairly accurate approximation of your speed. It helps if you can do this when there are passing lane strips you can drive over without running into someone coming the other way.

I have the Zeddfindings pans in my 240 and they are quality parts made right. I don't know anything about Classic. Your seat brackets are part of the structural support for your Z and need to be there. You can use the old ones.

Bringing this down for the weekend. Looking forward to seeing some nice Zs. Just a driver's seat so unless you want to do what they did back in the day (throw a blanket in the seat well and hang on to the cage for dear life) I won't be able to give you a ride.

What Are These Things Falling Out Of My Vent??
Desiccated cheerios? Put a vacuum tip up to the vent and see if you can remove more. I had little bits of seat foam fly out after I turned the blower motor on high, soon followed by 2 baby mice and then mom.

Noise diagnosis, and Mustache bar issues.
So unless I read this wrong replacing the mustache bar won't help your weak carrier leg or bolt area issue. I have several TTT pieces in my 240 and they are very nice to say the least and I've had no complaints at all even when used at the track. Fix the weak point first (the leg that holds the rear carrier brace or the bolt that comes down from the interior) and see if the problem is resolved before getting that pretty bar.

Replacing Twice Pipes exhaust! How to go back to stock without buying unnecesary part
The twice pipes are not what is making your Z loud it's your muffler(s)
