  1. i like 2 & 3 as far as what colours would look good, i would have to say the ones you have are probably the best as far as visibility is concerned
  2. agreed

does the 260Z have fusible links? anyway, fusible links are on later S30s; they are in little plastic pods attached to the passenger side (US) fenderwell. i too am thinking alternator/VR. double check all your plugs. also, there is a funky little square plastic plug that attaches to the starter. did this come disconnected? that will prevent the car from starting.
  4. don't get me wrong; i don't necessarily feel that nissan disowns the S30. i don't really have any personal feelings towards it at all, AAMOF. but what you mentioned in the last part of your message was EXACTLY what i meant; there is little connecting the S30 with modern nissans; with NSM being an outstanding exception.
  5. oh, you know what i meant!!
  6. another thing- i've read articles about how nissan "disowns" the S30, and how newer model nissan owners fail to recognize, respect the S30. with NSM putting out info for their cars, and sneaking in the occasional tid bit of S30, more and more people/nissan owners will be intrigued and excited over the S30!
  7. if you're just replacing the calipers and aren't changing type of rotor (ie 240Z or direct replacement) get the '83. they say "s12" on them. the part number is: P820 http://www.autozone.com/selectedZip,92117/initialAction,partProductDetail/initialpartType,00767/initialR,APP1120290/initialvehicleId,1210601/shopping/selectZip.htm i've noticed that the price has gone up ~$50 from when i bought them a few months ago.
  8. are you doing the solid rotor conversion? if so, isn't '89 a later model? i just went to autozone.com, put an '83 toyota 4x4 as one of my cars, and got the part number from the pair of loaded calipers.

i've been researching elec fans (since my fan clutch is siezed) and i thought it was worth mentioning that the folks at hybridz note that the taurus fan WILL NOT fit with the stock rad/engine (too deep)
  10. so who from the south (san diego) is planning on going? i'm leaving SD ~8:30 and was wondering if anyone wanted to caravan.
  11. i'm running k&ns with the TWM air horns. for the bowl vents, i just drilled holes in the base of the k&n cleaner and fited a rubber nipple and attached it that way. eventually i am going to weld in some metal nipples, but for now the current setup is ok
  12. i was hoping i would be the first to say that

i don't think that you'll have much luck, but have you checked the dealers? i know the places that make the dash covers also do floor mats as well. and if you have a swap meet locally.....

again, you should check out hybridz for some cool EFI mods. JustinOlson is making some killer intake manis from rontyler's design.

that'd be pretty cool, but alas i am flying
  23. as was mentioned, plug these puppies up on the new (old) air cleaner, you SHOULD have a couple strange looking bolts that have a ~2" head with a hole in it. those screw on the inside 2 holes of the carbies and accept the wing bolts that hold the "top" of the air cleaner on. i'll try to find you a pic.
  24. from what i hear, the flat top mani is BETTER flowing than the earlier mani. it should just be bolt on! of course you are going to need a new air cleaner, as the RT sus have round mouths versus square. EDIT- also, where did you hear flattops were better for performance? there are some old datsun comp SUs that happen to have flat tops, but those are a COMPLETELY different beast. another upgrade you might want to look at is upgrading your dizzy to a ZX electronic one. EDIT AGAIN - oh, and WELCOME!
  25. honestly, a radiator is where it's at. from what i hear, you can pick up a decent one at your local pick-n-pull for ~50
